City of Portland: Forcible Displacement of Unhoused Residents
In the face of rising homelessness rates, Portland has turned to cruel policies that ignore the root causes of unsheltered homelessness and threaten unhoused residents' rights.
Portland has forcibly displaced unhoused residents over the past several months with "encampment sweeps." The city's policies and practices, such as its camping ban, harm unhoused residents, are a waste of resources that ignore the root causes of homelessness, and threaten unhoused people's constitutional rights. We're demanding public records to learn more about Portland's policies, plans, and enforcement practices.
See our request at the bottom of this page or here.
