Today the Portland Press Herald reported that the marriage equality opponents Stand For Marriage have gathered the 55,087 signatures needed to put the marriage equality law on the ballot in November. The group has until early August to submit the signatures to the Secretary of State to be verified. The Maine Freedom to Marry Campaign has been on the ground for weeks organizing voters who are pledging to vote No in November. A NO vote will uphold the marriage law.
