Rin joined the ACLU of Maine in March 2024 as a communications intern. They were very excited to work to help others through the law, and as an aspiring lawyer, found many people within the ACLU of Maine to look up to as role models.

They are a first-year student at Bowdoin College planning to major in Government and English and minor in Philosophy. They have always been active in their political community, from their role as editor-in-chief of their high school newspaper, the Uproar, to their current advocacy and protesting for justice in Palestine. Currently, they are a part of the Bowdoin school newspaper, the Orient, and they write for the Bowdoin Review and edit the Quill, two of the College’s literary magazines. They also are a part of Bowdoin Students for Justice in Palestine, working to organize protests and advocacy both within and outside of the college’s campus community.

In their free time, they love to read, write poetry, and think too hard about fictional characters. They love to talk about Succession to anyone that will listen, and they enjoy listening to podcasts like 5-4 and If Books Could Kill. They also have a dog named Mochi back home in Pittsburgh, and they will always love to show a picture!
