If you missed us at the Camden International Film Festival screening of How to Clean a House in Ten Easy Steps, you can see us and this moving film in the CIFF Encore series at SPACE in Portland!

Made by Maine-based director Carolina González Valencia and moving fluidly between performance and reflection, the film imagines a world in which the director’s mother Beatriz, who came to the US to support her family in Colombia through domestic labor, is a best-selling author. Using the fabricated book as a framework to explore the complex conditions of her life, mother and daughter weave a fantastical and fragmented tale of immigration, domestic labor, authorship, and mythology.

Come see us, pick up Know Your Rights materials and swag, and enjoy the film!
