Bio

Nora joined the ACLU of Maine in September 2026 as a policy fellow. She focuses on state-level civil rights issues, legislative advocacy, and campaign work related to fair elections, immigrant rights, privacy protections, and more.

Nora brings a background in public-sector advocacy focused on immigrant rights, environmental justice, and civil rights. She previously served as a staff attorney in the Conservation Law Foundation's Environmental Justice program, where she worked to protect communities disproportionately affected by environmental burdens. Her work included representing the Penobscot Nation in its challenge to the expansion of Maine’s largest landfill and successfully advocating for legislation in New Hampshire banning PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” in consumer products.

Before CLF, Nora worked with unaccompanied immigrant minors at the Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, part of Catholic Charities. She represented young people seeking asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, and then served as Interim Managing Attorney for the Released Youth Program, where she oversaw legal orientations and intakes for unaccompanied minors and their custodians.

Nora attended New York University School of Law before transferring to the University of Maine School of Law, where she served as a Refugee and Human Rights Fellow and graduated summa cum laude. She earned her B.A. in Comparative Literature from Brown University, studying English, Spanish, and Latin.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Nora now spends her time communing with nature, embarking on far-flung foodie adventures (all trips are secretly about the food), and spending time with her two daughters, Zora and Iris. She also enjoys reading memoirs, dancing to live music, wandering into strange plays, and staying close to her family and childhood friends.
