th

, advocates in Maine and across the country will release a report on racial profiling in Maine and America called,

Faces of Racial Profiling: A Report from Communities Across America.

The report gives voice to people in Maine who have experienced racial profiling. It also offers a definition of racial profiling, its impact on communities, and its relationship to local, state, and federal law enforcement. Aside from summarizing what constitutional, federal, and state laws have to say about the issue, the report makes specific recommendations for policy makers. The findings are a compilation of the results from field hearings that took place across the country this past summer, including a hearing in Maine.
