Jawad: A case highlighting the absence of habeas corpus for a minor being
detained based on evidence obtained through coercion and torture, and set to be
tried in an unconstitutional court system. ACLU Staff Attorney and lawyer for
Jawad, Jonathan Hafetz summed it up
well when he said, “This is a pathetic attempt to prolong an outrageous case
and to manipulate the court system. This travesty of justice has gone on long
enough, and Jawad should be sent home.”
