We the People: An Evening with the ACLU of Maine

June 6, 2019 @ 5:15 pm 7:15 pm

ONLINE TICKETS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. For ticketing questions contact Amy Kuhn at (207) 619-7397 or at akuhn@aclumaine.org.

Join us for our annual event!

This year we are excited to welcome Nusrat Choudhury, Deputy Director of the ACLU’s National Racial Justice Program, as our featured speaker. Her work challenges biased policing practices and seeks to end debtors’ prisons.

We are also proud to honor Justice Louis Scolnik, a founding member of the ACLU of Maine and retired Maine Supreme Court Justice. Justice Scolnik’s foundational work has not only guided our mission, but set the stage for future generations to expand civil rights and civil liberties for all Mainers.

Also featuring Penobscot Nation Tribal Ambassador Maulian Dana and music by JanaeSound.

Tickets are available on a sliding scale and no one will be turned away.

Please note our new venue at USM's Hannaford Hall. Instead of a sit-down dinner, we will host a reception with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by an engaging stage program.
