Tonight in Orono our very own Executive Director Shenna Bellows will receive the Maryann Hartman Award. The award is named after a distinguished educator in speech communications from the University of Maine and it is given annually to women in Maine who have made a difference in the arts, politics, business, education and community service.

The University of Maine's Women in Curriculum/Women’s Studies Programs do a lot to educate young women about their civil liberties and community activism. In the past, the ACLU of MAINE has proudly partnered with the Programs for Maine NEW Leadership and other educational opportunities for women. The ACLU of MAINE is honored to have a staff member receive an award from WIC/WSP. Please join us in congratulating Shenna on this honor.
