On Friday, it was announced that the trial of Omar Khadr would be postponed for one week. The delay was attributed to reports that a plea deal is being negotiated.
If the United States was interested in justice for Khadr, it would drop the charges and release the Canadian citizen. Only 15 years old when he was captured in Afghanistan, Khadr was tortured and abused. His confessions were coerced and he has already served a third of his life in custody at Guantanamo.
