This bill would make it so that public entities like Maine State Prison and the Maine Legislature are subject to the Maine Human Rights Act -- Maine's strongest anti-discrimination law.

Right now, incarcerated people at Maine State Prison who experience discrimination because of their race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin, cannot sue for discrimination under the Maine Human Rights Act.

Discrimination has no place in Maine, least of all by its public entities.
