This bill would reduce several hunting, fishing, and driving offenses from Class E crimes to civil violations.
Too many people face unnecessarily harsh consequences and a permanent criminal record for behaviors that don't need to be criminalized. Criminal punishment does long-term harm to individuals and families, and disproportionately to people of color. It's time to end our over-reliance on the criminal legal system.
