Name: Reggie Parson
Pronouns: He/Him/His
Year of Participation: Summer 2018

What was the most valuable thing you learned or accomplished in the program?
The most valuable thing I learned about was the incredible amount of dedication and hard work it takes to ensure individuals' civil rights and liberties are protected in Maine. The ACLU staff made it both fun and rewarding to work. Through the program I gained more experience about researching case law, combating real world issues, and I learned more about the Maine state government. My summer experience has helped me immensely in my current role in the Maine Legislature.

What have you done since being involved in the ACLU program?
Since being involved in the ACLU summer program, I graduated from the University of Maine School of Law in 2019. I am currently employed with the Maine Legislature under the Speaker of the House of Representatives as a Senior Legislative Aide and Policy Analyst.

What are your plans for the future?
I would like to continue providing public service to the people of Maine in my current role and in my community in any way possible.
