Name: Jess Mizzi
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
Year of Participation: Fall 2020

What was the most valuable thing you learned or accomplished in the program?
I have learned so many valuable skills during my time at ACLU! Some examples are how to research and write efficiently and effectively, as well as how to be creative in crafting legal arguments.

What do you do outside of your work at the ACLU?
Outside of working at the ACLU, I am currently a second year student at Maine Law, and I am the Juvenile Justice fellow for my year. In addition to law school, I spend a lot of time outdoors with my pup and playing ultimate frisbee (in non-pandemic times).

What are your plans for the future?
My goal is to finish law school and to work on addressing systemic juvenile justice issues that exist and prevent youth from accessing the resources they need to thrive as they transition to independence.
