Still smiling about marriage equality?  Maine wasn't the only state to have a significant win at the ballot box last week.  The ACLU worked on ballot initiatives involving not only the freedom to marry, but also medical marijuana, abortion, voter ID, the DREAM Act, and criminal justice.  And we won big!  Check out this interactive map detailing some of the civil liberties wins.

We didn't win everywhere.  The ACLU of Northern California invested a lot in the ballot initiative to end the death penalty but were unsuccessful.  Medical marijuana did not pass in Arkansas, and death with dignity was defeated in Massachusetts.  But we're not giving up.  We know from experience, here in Maine and across the country, that freedom is not easily won, but a small group of committed activists and ACLU supporters can change the world.
